Waive Proof vs Full-Service Proofing
Waive Proof vs Full-Service Proofing
Logo Decoration Approval Process Options
At Merchology, we’re on a mission to find and develop processes that work best for you. That’s because every team has different needs. As part of this mission, it’s important that we provide more than one method of logo proofing.
Custom logo digitizing is one of our most important focal points. Like the MerchSolutions we offer to help make life easier, we also give our customers a choice between two types of Merchology logo proofing: full-service proofing or a waive proof of your digitized logo. Either way, we’re here to help you get the perfect Merchology logo decoration for your needs.
So what does waive proof mean? On the other hand, what does full-service proof mean? We’ll dive into those answers in a moment. But first, let’s talk about what logo digitization is.
What is Logo Digitization?
Embroidery machines can’t read typical artwork files such as .jpg or .png. Because of this, our team needs to convert your logo file into an embroidery file. This process is known as logo digitization.
Sometimes, logo digitization requires you to make changes to the original artwork file, which optimize it for embroidery. The type of embroidery machine we’ll use determines what type of embroidery file you’ll need.
Now, let’s move on to the differences between waive proof vs. full-service proofing.
What Does Full-Service Proofing Mean?
Full-service proofing means that you’ll receive proof of your digitized logo via email, two to three days after submitting your order. You can request edits to their proof if needed, but edits will add extra days to the order’s lead time. That’s because we’ll need to reproof your edited embroidery file--often a necessary step in the custom logo digitizing process.
There’s a 48-hour turnaround for your approval, so if you don’t respond within that amount of time, we’ll automatically approve your order and move on to the production phase. If you want your shipping date to stay the same, you’ll need to approve within 24 hours.
After your order goes to production, it will be shipped when it’s ready.
This is a fantastic option for companies or individuals who want to get a sample of their logo-branded merch into their hands before starting a full production run. While it takes a little extra time on the front end, it can actually save you money if you don’t need to pay extra for replacements.
What Does Waive Proof Mean?
Merchology’s waive proof option means that you choose to waive approval for your digitized logo proof. That means your order will go straight to production once custom logo digitizing is complete. This is the second Merchology logo decoration option you’ll see at checkout.
The advantage of waive proof is that your order can arrive up to two days faster, since there was no need for us to send a proof for your approval. However, waive proof orders aren’t eligible for return or refund if you’re unsatisfied with the design. So, this option is fantastic for quicker turnarounds, but keep in mind that you won’t be able to exchange or return the finished products.
What Happens if My Logo is Already On File?
If you’ve shopped with us before, we may already have your logo on file. If so, that’s great news for you, because we won’t need to re-proof it! Therefore, you can select waive proof and your order can go straight into production.
To sum it up, waive proof is a better option if you’re in a rush to receive your order--and, it’s automatic if your embroidery logo is on file. On the other hand, selecting full-service proof for your Merchology logo proofing can help give you peace of mind, especially when it comes to large orders.
